BAC Water

BAC Water (Bacteriostatic Water for Injection) is sterile water containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol as a preservative. In research settings, it is commonly used as a diluent for reconstituting lyophilized (freeze-dried) compounds intended for laboratory investigation.

The benzyl alcohol component inhibits bacterial growth, allowing for multiple withdrawals from a single vial under appropriate sterile conditions. BAC water does not contain active pharmaceutical ingredients and does not alter the pharmacological properties of the compound being reconstituted, aside from dilution.
