Melanotan II

Melanotan II is a synthetic analogue of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH) studied for its activity at melanocortin receptors, particularly MC1R and MC4R.

In research settings, Melanotan II has been investigated for its effects on melanogenesis (melanin production), appetite regulation, and central nervous system–mediated pathways related to sexual behavior and energy balance. Its mechanism involves stimulation of melanocortin receptor signaling cascades.
